Sounds of Christmas

The sweet sounds of Christmas can be heard all throughout Cayman at the start of the festive season. The annual tradition of attending caroling, and Christmas concerts are indicative of Christmastime in our islands.

In years past, singers and musicians travelling throughout the districts on foot or donkey cart were the couriers of celebration. Inviting communities to gather on porches or sand yards to join the festivities and build the anticipation for Christmas Day. As times have changed, the sound of travelling heralds have been replaced with jovial concerts and programmes spread throughout churches and community centres as well as beautifully decorated floats carrying live bands keeping up the tradition of yesteryear.
