The Best Times to Take Your Romantic Babymoon Trip

Your Caribbean babymoon awaits, but before you book your ticket to the Cayman Islands, consult your doctor on the best time to travel.

Generally, the second trimester is the safest time to travel during pregnancy, especially if you're flying. This 14 to 28-week period presents the lowest risk for premature labor or miscarriage. Most women also feel their best during this time as nausea due to morning sickness usually subsides between the sixteenth to eighteenth week.

Experts also recommend it, but you should speak to your doctor as every pregnancy is different. You may have unique medical circumstances that may need to be considered. Your doctor will likely give you the all-clear once your 12-week scan shows you and the baby are healthy to travel.

Although some women opt to travel in their third trimester, most doctors don't recommend flying after 36 weeks. Many airlines also don't allow it without a letter from your doctor. The number of activities you can participate in may also be limited if you wait until your last trimester.

The great thing about a Caribbean babymoon in the Cayman Islands is that the weather is warm all year round. Your due date doesn't have to prevent you from soaking up the sun.
