Kimberly, a Caymanian, and James, a Brit, first caught sight of each other during a 30-day yoga challenge in the autumn of 2011. The pair exchanged glances throughout but didn’t formally introduce themselves until they bumped into each other again the following December at a coffee shop.
“After we shared in a smile and a warm hello, James sat next to my sister and I where we continued in conversation for a while,” shares Kimberly. “Our blueprint was set!”
James proposed during a visit to England in the beautiful countryside of Ashbourne. Kimberly caught the spark of something dangling from his chain in the candlelight, which he playfully swung in front of her until it ‘clicked’ and then he asked her to marry him.”
“It was perfect,” she says.
The pair wed on January 2, 2017, at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman and enjoyed a delightful English Garden-themed brunch reception which perfected represented their British/Caymanian roots.
The ceremony, which took place at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, was held on the Great Lawn under a grand gazebo which backs onto a dock on the canal. “The ceremony was held in the morning so the sun was behind us,” explains Kimberly. “The temperature was also more favorable for us and our guests.”
