Cayman kicks off summer a little earlier with our annual Batabano festival, which takes place every May. The word “Batabano” refers to the footprints that turtles leave in the sand when they come to land to make their nests.
A visual and cultural feast, this traditional carnival features a parade of stilt performers, dancers, masks and more.
All roads lead to Hog Sty Bay for the 42nd year of Cayman Carnival Batabano. Batabano returns with a revitalized energy under fresh creative direction!
The season starts with Junior Batabano Parade on 3 May and finishes with the Batabano Adult Parade and Las Lap Street Dance on Saturday 10 May followed by a Sunday and Monday to remember.
